EMORY JOHNS CREEK POSTS YET ANOTHER RECORD MONTH

Johns Creek, GA –  In an economic climate where many businesses and industries are struggling, Emory Johns Creek Hospital posted record results for May, surpassing its performance records in Admissions and Emergency Department visits.  “May is typically a slower month for hospitals because of the long holiday weekend and the end of the school year when many families leave town for vacations,” said Christine Williams, Controller for the Hospital.  “So far, we haven’t felt that summer slow down,” she added. 

Nearly a third of the Emergency Department visits are pediatric patients, under the age of 18.  “Our short wait times and a dedicated children’s waiting area help make us child-friendly,” said Williams.  The children’s waiting room is brightly decorated, equipped with toys and children’s movies.  The EJCH Volunteer Auxiliary has been dedicated to creating an atmosphere for children that is comforting.  The EJCH Express, a dedicated wagon to transport children within the hospital, the Thelma the Otter mascot on murals and toys are ways the Hospital helps make its youngest emergency patients comfortable.

Emory Johns Creek Hospital boasts a staff of more than 600 physicians in 43 specialties and provides a full range of services to area patients, including emergency, labor and delivery, the area’s only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, advanced surgery and diagnostics, bariatrics, sleep studies and a newly opened Cardiac Cath Lab.
